Biking, coupled with the knowledge of how to maintain a bike and the rules of the road, gives students much needed exercise and the freedom to explore. Our students have also had valuable citizenship lessons by attending City Council meetings and sharing their desire for more and better biking routes. They learn responsibility maintaining and securing their bikes and stewardship in returning a borrowed bike in the same condition in which they borrowed it. Through a partnership with BIKE VENTURA,we have been able to give students a bike and helmet at the end of their biking course.
